A prepaid phone is a great choice when you don’t want to burn a hole in your pocket while having a good phone. That’s smart, I give you that.
You have plenty of options, ranging from unlocked flagship options to carrier-provided phones. That said, the possibilities are way too numerous, making it confusing most of the time–especially for those who don’t know where to even start.
But fret not, because I have compiled a list of only the best Walmart prepaid phones you can have without paying the full amount upfront.
If that sounds good to you, let’s jump right into the details.
Before You Buy a Prepaid Phone
First things first, the prices of these devices vary depending on the state you are located in and the promotions.
Secondly, these phones have been personally tested by me. I used them daily and went through everything that a potential user might use to know the good, the bad, and the ugly. Since there were a lot of phones, I wanted to make this testing phase seamless. So, I connected these phones to my reliable Spectrum WiFi at home. It was a pleasant experience with consistent speed and zero outages in my case.
If you, too, want to upgrade your WiFi, reach out to Spectrum customer service.
Now, it is time to get right into the best prepaid smartphones.
Top 3 Prepaid Smartphones You Can Buy from Walmart
Moto G (2025)
Motorola was the first company to make a consumer cellphone. Then they went off the track and lost their lead. Fast forwarding to 2026, they have been making some fine Android phones, and the Moto G (2025) is one of them.
Why has it been added to my list? Let’s talk about that.
The first thing is its price. There aren’t many phones that you can find at this price point (making an exception to mention the price because it is ridiculously good). You can easily find this phone for under $100 unlocked or via a carrier.
And at that price, you can’t really complain much.
The first thing you’ll notice about this phone is its huge 120Hz display (though IPS LCD). It is fine for most content consumption, like watching YouTube videos and Instagram reels.
The performance with a MediaTek chipset is fine but not great. Casual games will run okay on the Moto G. As for its storage options, you have the liberty to choose from 64 gigs or 128 gigs. I suggest 128 gigs if you keep your phone for a long while.
All in all, it is a good prepaid phone, whether you buy it unlocked or from a carrier.
Samsung Galaxy A15 5G
If you want a cheap phone that checks all the boxes, the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G variant (remember 5G) is a good option.
Why did I refer to 5G? Well, there are two variants of this phone: one of them is 4G, and the other one is 5G. It is important because not only is there a difference between their connectivity, but their processors as well – the 5G variant has a better processor.
The rest of the phone is just the same.
It has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display, which clocks at 90Hz. I know it sounds inferior, but when you test a 120hz display side by side to this, you would barely notice any difference.
On top of that, it has software support for at least four years. I haven’t seen such support in an affordable product. I should appreciate Samsung more.
The camera is another aspect of this phone that I like. It is a triple camera setup with a main 50MP shooter, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. The photos look good straight out of the gallery, but the videos can be improved. The stability isn’t there, and they lack the vibrancy that photos have.
But still, it is a good phone you can buy prepaid. So, only shortlist it.
Samsung Galaxy S24
Have you observed a pattern? I am increasing the level with every phone.
Anyway, the base Galaxy S24 just has to be there.
It is one of the best phones in 2024, and after all the discounts and price decreases, it is still very much relevant in 2026.
It was powered by the most powerful Android processor, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That processor is still very powerful. Also, the display technology behind the S24 was phenomenal, and that was expected of Samsung. It is one of the best display manufacturers in the world.
The camera system is respectable as well, checking all of the boxes like telephoto lens, ultrawide, and main lens.
The only downside to this phone is its battery capacity: it’s a 4,000mAh battery, which might feel outdated in 2026. If you can live with that, S24 is a great prepaid phone.
Now that I have listed the best prepaid phones you can get from Walmart, you should evaluate what you need. Once you know which phone will satisfy your needs, only then pull the trigger on it.
